Cairn® Mini Lantern

I wish these could last forever. I have owned four of these. They last between 5 and 8 years. I like the range of intensity. The dimmest os great for when I need a little light and the bright is perfect for when I need a lot of light. I am glad that the port cover is chartreuse. When the cover breaks apart from the lamp (and it will break), the chartreuse color makes it easy to locate the cover. The on/off/brightness button the the unit I recently received does not have a click sound. I have to hold the button firmly, and for quite the length of time to turn it on, adjust the brightness, or turn it off. The strap makes it easy to place practically anywhere. I have been purchasing these for about ten years or so. I like this lamp. I wish it could last forever.

I walk around my neighborhood for exercise and prefer to do so in the evenings when it's calm and there are few people around. But that means I'm often out after the sun goes down, and since my area has sparse streetlights some spots can get pretty dark. This Cairn Mini Lantern attaches nicely onto my sling pack that I carry on my back. The light, which I set on the brightest setting, is pretty dang bright so I feel much safer with it on. Although the button for on/off/brighten/flash is one in the same and kinda physically hard to push, so that's taking a little practice. (Maybe it's designed that way so you can't accidentally change the settings by just bumping it?) That's the only thing I'd suggest tweaking so it's easier for people who might have a hard time working it. Otherwise, nice light for a decent price, and of course I appreciate that it's rechargeable. It's still new to me so I can't speak to wear and tear yet but in my limited experience with it I would suggest it to others.
